Adjustment and straightening: We offer adjustment, straightening and polishing/cleaning of all types of signet rings and rings.

Refurbishment of old gold signet rings: We can refurbish old signet rings by slightly reducing the setting of the ring if the thickness of the plate allows it or by soldering a new gold plate for a new engraving.

Renovation of old signet rings with stones: We can renovate a worn setting, either by simply tightening it, or by replacing broken or missing intaglios, or those you no longer like, with a new engraved stone.

Restoration or transformation of old jewellery: We can restore or overhaul old, damaged or mismatched jewellery in a more contemporary way.

Engraving of a signet ring supplied by you: We can only hand engrave a signet ring supplied by you if it is of excellent workmanship, solid and the metal has been properly hammered – forged (we do not engrave cast or hollow signet rings).

Our commitments

French design and manufacture: We design, create, forge, cast, cut and set the stones and engrave all metals by hand in our workshops in Paris. Only the stone engraving is done in Germany, by hand, by the same two excellent stone engravers who have been partners of our company for decades.

We include in our jewellery services, for signet rings or rings, an adjustment of the ring contour within six months after delivery, as it sometimes takes a few weeks to judge the correct contour of a ring.

The heraldic designs or monograms ordered become your property and you are entitled to reproduce them privately at a later date. If you wish to use and reproduce them for professional purposes, we can discuss specific reproduction rights.

We are used to secure shipments in well-protected packaging. In the case of France, we use La Poste and the specific circuit “Valeur déclarée” which is insured to the value transported. Outside France, we ship with the help of Fedex or DHL. In order to be prepared for any eventuality, we systematically take out transport insurance for shipments of a value of more than 500 euros, excluding VAT, for international shipments.

Our history

A COMPANY RICH IN HISTORY AND TRADITION

Founded in 1825 by Louis-Charles Bouvet, our company passed into the hands of Mr Agry around 1863. Eight generations of the same family have perpetuated and passed on the tradition of hand engraving and heraldry at 14 rue Castiglione in Paris, between Place Vendôme and the Tuileries Gardens.

Our historic shop was one of the oldest in Paris and the only one in the “Charles X” style (who reigned from 1824 to 1830) with its period woodwork and its furniture in bird’s-eye maple marquetry with amaranth inlay.

Until the French Revolution, the Feuillants convent, which belonged to the Augustinians, stood on the site of the tent. It was here that King Louis XVI was taken prisoner and led with his family to the scaffold in 1790.

By decree of 1811, Napoleon I ordered Baron Haussmann to build the rue de Castiglione.

The porticoed façades were then built, giving a unity of style to the district between the rue Saint Honoré, the rue de Rivoli and the rue des Pyramides.

Throughout the 19th century, our company acquired great expertise and notoriety in the manufacture and supply of livery buttons for the employees of the various great aristocratic families of France, with more than 5,000 dies in our archives.

From the very beginning, many families and institutions from all over the world have been customers of our company over the generations, whether for signet rings, stamps or stationery.

Our history of almost 200 years shows the loyalty of our customers, attached to the quality of our services and to the maintenance of a unique know-how in heraldry and engraving in France and even in Europe.

Creation of new drawings of your family coat of arms from your personal documents or from research in our archives and library.

Since 1825, nearly 35,000 signet rings have been designed, made to measure and delivered to customers all over the world.

To carry out your various projects, we place at your disposal our heraldic knowledge and our jeweller’s know-how, enriched by our archives, some of which date back to the reign of Charles X.
